Cannonball is an India Pale Ale in the true tradition, high in alcohol and massively hopped to survive a long sea voyage. We don’t want you to wait though, take a swig and let the flavour explode on your palate. Tropically fruity, resinous hops compete against a sweet malty backbone, while a rasping bitterness builds to a mouth puckering crescendo. Our hop bomb will blow you out of the water.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy deep golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Lovely aroma of tropical fruits and spruce / pine. Distinctly hoppy flavour throughout, on a moderately sweet background. Citrussy and resinous notes, bitter finish. Good stuff.

From a Beer Shitehawk box I was gifted. Aroma combines pine, stone fruit and resin. Opaque amber gold. Foamy white head. Medium bitter. Stone fruit and resin. Underlying fruit sugar sweetness and malt. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Dry slightly astringent finish. I didn't want to like this macro filth but it's very drinkable.

Can. Pretty hazy orange golden, smaller white head, not so lasting. Pretty nice resin nose, sweet peach and some pine notes. Moderate bitter, pretty dry. A bit herbal in the end. Lasting and strong aftertaste. Light body. Proper IPA.

330ml can from Honest Brew. Hazy gold with a small, foamy white head. Citrus aroma, flavour is toffee and grapefruit. Way smoother than the ABV suggests

Can from Honest Brew. Pours cloudy gold with bubbly white head which dissipates and leaves no lacing. Juicy and malt aroma, grapefruit and pine come through. Taste is citrus, grapefruit, grassy with low soft carbonation and a focused long lasting bitterness. The high ABV is noticeable but its still quite easy to drink. Nice balance.

Frothy white head on an unclear vivid amber coloured still body. Bitter, pith & malt aroma. Medium bodied, smooth on the front with sharp back & dry cloying aft. Pith, citrus, pine, stewed fruit, malt & grapefruit tastes with a long bitter finish.

Finally getting round to giving this a review. Pours dark gold with quite some head. Aroma is very pine-driven, sweet, tropical fruit. Medium to big body. Flavour is malty and sweet, but immediately balanced by a high bitterness. Lots of pine and resin, but also some smooth orange, grapefruit and some tropical fruit. Finishes bitter and slightly sweet with a long hoppy finish. Always a very solid IPA.
