19/1/2019. Bottle from Die Bierothek, Leipzig shared at the second Kesgrave 50/50 bottle share. Pours dark brown with a large off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, hops, fruit, roasted malt and a hint of aniseed. Moderate sweetness with medium bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Sweet chocolate malt finish. Enjoyable.

Pours dark brown from the bottle with a tan head that fades to a creamy layer. Aroma is chocolate, tropical fruits, piney, floral. Overall a very promising start. Taste is bitter with rich undertones of chocolate, citrus, salt, melon. Feels simple but exceptionally well balanced. Sadly, then proceeds to be dragged down by a papery, cardboard note that clings to the tongue. Finishes with a light alcoholic warmth. Despite a great start, this one could not persuade me.

Botella 33 cl en el kraken 05..04..2017. (r79).
