Aroma of roasted malts, leather, hint of smoke, chocolate, liquorice, hint of dark fruit. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Surprisingly good, leathery and slightly smokey with a strong bittersweet flavour.

Bottle 0,33 ltr: Dark brown colored brew with an great dry bitter taste, hints of roasted malts, smoke, chocolate and liquorice. How i can trace that castoreum stuff in the beer?

Bottle. Dark brown color. Pours a huge head. Slight gusher. Earthy herbal caramelly aroma with hints of licorice and chocolate. Thin. Earthy caramelly sweet but also nutty bitter flavor with grassy herbal notes and licorice. Decent.

Very dark brown colour with quick fading head. Aroma and flavour have lots of dark red fruits and fairly bitter, roasted malt. A bit thin and watery.

33cl bottle from Maakun, thanks! Brouwnummer: 20150427. Pours near black with a thick creamy brown head. Scary label.. Aroma has licorice root, dark fruits, chocolate, sour wood and something I can’t figure out. Flavor has lactose sweetness, cocoa, roasted malt, ashy notes. Nothing here that says this is a Abbey dubbel, but the beer itself is quite interesting and quite flavorful.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Clear dark red-brown to brown color, average sized beige head. Aroma is malts, roasted malts, earthy. Taste malts, roast, earthy, bitter hops, quite bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Not bad at all. Earlier Rating: 3/24/2015 Total Score: 3.8Bottle @ home shared with Thompson. Dark brown color with a nice dark red hue coming through, full sized tan head that lasts for a long time. Smell and taste malts, brown malts, some kind of fruityness, some aramel, moderately bitter, a hint of leather somehow. Decent body and carbonation. Quite like it, interesting beer.

Bottle @ home shared by benzai even though he didn’t fully remember. Dark brown with a ruby glow, small beige head. Smells roasty, slightly salty liquorice. Tastes roasty, coffee.. That’s basicly it. Just had a bourbon imp stout so that probably doesn’t help. Not a bad beer at all but slightly boring/onesided. Medium body, nice carbo.
