Millevertus' spelt triple, luckily the version with "3 x 3 dices" - otherwise this would have been an alias it seems, quite a way to make things needlessly complicated for beer lovers... Regularly shaped, creamy, egg-white, hardly lacing but stable head over an initially misty ochre-tinged amberish peach blonde beer. Quite inviting bouquet of warm biscuit cake, candied mango, marmalade, coriander seed, fresh green leek, green olives, ripe peach, freshly baked cookies straight from the oven, raisin bread, honey, sweet onions frying in peanut oil, almond, soap, candied orange peel, tiramisu, fresh brown bread, cinnamon, parsnip. Crisp, fruity onset, hinting at sweetish apricot, baked banana and dried mango as well as sourish unripe pear and perhaps a dash of green gooseberry, medium to sharpish carbonated with minerally side effects, supple and lean but full mouthfeel. Crisp, 'bright green' fresh vegetable effect too, as if biting on green beans or peas. As suggested by the nose, a pleasant cinnamon bread-, biscuit cake- and peanut-like maltiness ensues with mildly soapy spelt impressions, carrying some dried fruits onwards to a spicy, bittering finish, where a toasty accent is a bit swamped by a spicy, 'moss green', resinous hop bitterness drowning the subtleties of the spelt, but instead adding a floral, fresh grassy, dried orange peel- and even very lightly sweet shallot- and raw cinnamon-like aromatic quality to the whole, lifting up the sedate baked biscuit-like malt sweetness along with an undeniable coriander seed soapiness. Some spicy phenols, a vaguely metallic 'rustiness' and an afterglow of warming but somewhat crude, 'jenever'-like alcohol add an extra layer of flavours. Spice bread-like Wallonian ale as we are used to from Millevertus, but compared with most of their other creations, this is not bad at all, almost coming across as a very light, much softer, quaffable version of American barleywine rather than the cliché Belgian tripel standard I was expecting. Much better than anticipated and among the top Millevertus beers so far for me - have an extra point for that.

Bottle from LDW, Eke. Dark hazy orange colour, creamy white foam. Sweet nose of caramel, some citrus, soapy. Bit unbalanced. Decent.
