A West Coast Double IPA
So mega-hopped it will take you to hop heaven. We’ve used hops in the boil, more hops in the giant hopback, and added to that, an incredible amount of dry-hopping for that cutting-edge “hop bite.” Once you’ve tasted this unique beer, all others pale in comparison. 1.072 OG Classified IBU 8%ABV

Small bottle bought at Bottle Jockey. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is tropical fruits, resin, a little bit sweet. Full bodied. Bitterness of tropical fruits in the slightly sweet and sour taste. Very bitter aftertaste with some notes of malt. Good one.

0.355 l bottle from ’Firma Bier’, bottled in December 2015. Clear, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, stable, white head. Sweetish, fruity-resiny and spicy-grassy aroma of grapefruit, orange, pine, hemp and some honey. Sweetish-malty, fruity-resiny and spicy-grassy taste of honey, pine, hemp, grapefruit and orange. followed by a medium long, resiny-bitter, spicy-grassy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Nicely fruity and bitter with enough malts to balance the hops. Palate is great as well, overall very good!

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy golden/amber body with a thick off-white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, Jelly Babies, spicy hops and blood orange. Flavour of sweet malt, tangerine and Irn-Bru (thanks to Scopey for that tasting note) with a slightly hot finish. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Hoppy and delicious. It’s good, but it doesn’t hit the heights of Lagunitas’ Hop Stoopid.

Bottle. Tall Boys, Leeds. Hazy, orange gold. Film of sticky, lasting, white head. Leggy and slick. Looks good. Nose has rich, thick, orange peel hop. Fragrant, floral herb. Light hop spice. Sweet, biscuity malt background. Taste is full on, punchy, oily bitter. Apart from a stickiness on the lips, there’s little let up. Clean, punchy mouthfeel. Full, lasting, punchy, pithy bitter finish. Wasn’t convinced at first, but this a grower, which sometimes make the best beers, for me. Great stuff.

(355ml bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping) Pours lightly hazy medium orange with a decent lingering off white head and lace. Aroma dominated by orange flesh, assorted citrus peels, malts with caramel and a substantial bready component, pine and a bit of unripe mango. Flavour of oranges, grapefruit peel, light mango, caramel, hop leaves, pine, a bit dank. Some bready graininess peeking through. Finish fairly dry with moderate bitterness, florals. Medium bodied, average carb, little alcohol. Not bad at all, but doesn’t really pop either - aroma subdued and hop fade seemed in effect. Didn’t seem to meet the Alpine legend.

12oz bottle. Filtered amber-orange body. Creamy, steady off-white head. Certainly well hopped, has a classic NW feel at first, but the more I sip at it I also get those classic English/East Coast notes as well. A quality beer, balanced, drinkable for the style. Nice hop depth.

Bottle from The Bottle Shop London and drunk at home. Hazy dark amber colour lasting near white head. Some sweetness, some toffee, but lots of fresh hop flavour. Aroma I thought would be more big fresh hop. But the hop comes on far more on the finish. Bitter hoppy fresh. Some sweetness but not hot or boozy. Great finish. Could have a better aroma. Good though.
