One of the limited Borefts 2016 specials. Translates as... well, this is a hard one... Framboos is the Dutch word for raspberry. But 'boos' also means 'angry'. Framblij is a non existing word in Dutch. But 'blij' means 'happy'. So the little joke is the contradiction between boos & blij. Hopefully it's still kind of funny explained like this. If not: just enjoy the beer! 100 Kilo's of local raspberries found their way into this fruity stout (and clogged the filters afterwards, but we forgave them).

Borefts VIII. Keg. Light haze on this reddish amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is light and dry with good fine carbonation. Thin dry malts. Mellow raspberry, some pips. Floral bitterness. Dry finish. Feels like this should be delivering more.

Sample at Borefts 2016. Poured a reddish brown colour with a thin whispy white head. The aroma is light red berry fruit. The flavour is light acid citrus with a crisp refreshing fruity yeast palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

On tap at Borefts Beer Festival, 2016. Pours dark reddish brown, small off-white head. Caramel, berries, mostly raspberries which are not too intensive, light malty, some chocolate, quite emtpy actually, light to medium bodied. Expected more really.

Bottle, 0.33l, courtesy of Hoppiness crew. Murky dark brown color with large frothy tan-like head, lots of yeast residue and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa, caramel, raspberry and grass. Taste starts with medium sweet caramel, roasted malt and dark chocolate, follows sour grassy and fruity, mouthfeel is spicy and rather dry, while finish is medium bitter. Light to medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Not a well-chosen combination...

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark red / brown pour with some floaty bits and a massive frothy beige head, aroma has raspberry and a hint of chocolate, taste has light raspberry, some malts, really fizzy, with some dark chocolate action.

Bottled on 16-08-16. Plenty of raspberry in smell and taste, dark cocoa appears in taste. Bitter and fruity. Bonus for fun. It's raspmerry.
