Deze barley wine is een collab met PAPA Brews en is gebrouwen met rogge en 20% honing. De honing is afkomstig van Imkerij de Walhut uit Eindhoven. De rogge en de Europese hoppen geven het bier een licht kruidige smaak en de honing zorgt voor een zachte, zoete smaak welke in de afdronk duidelijk aanwezig is.

bottle from Benzai, nice light hazy reddish brown with a beige head, aroma of malts, sweet, alcohol, raisins, dark fruits, caramel, Taste of brown sugar, sweet malts, candy sugar, brown sugar, grain, lots of dried dark fruits, raisin, toffee, rye, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, umami, oily feel, soft carbonation, long finish, medium to full body, actually very nice

Glass at 24 uurs van Maastricht 2017: Cola coloured beer, small head. Aroma is honey, roast, malt. Taste is the same, sweet and some bitterness, nice one.

Small yellowish head, irregular, over fully cloudy dark redbrown beer. Alcoholic/fusels’ nose; further other grains, vanilla, marzipan. Bit of a disjointed aromajumble. Sweet, marzipan-like, and a bit roasted-(mild)bitterish. Again very boozy, vanilla. Strong, but not refined. Very slick-viscous, despite quite reasonable carbonation. Alcoholheat. Definitely not one to gulp down. Not only the alcohol, but the rather excessive sweetness make it impossible.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah. Brown color, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, sugary, sweet, brown candy sugar. Average to decent body and carbonation. Ok beer, but kinda sweet.

From tap @ PRZH Winterbeerfest 2017. Dark brown color. Off white to beige head. Aroma’s: herbs, sweetish, light vegetal. Retronasal it’s sweetish, fruit, herbal. Flavor is modearte to full sweet, herbal spicy. Medium to full bodied. Long finish, no new flavors.

Tap at NBFD. Slight hazy copper with small off white head. Thick caramel, loads of dried fruits, figs, sweet and bitter rye, marzipan, raisins, light fruity hops. Over medium sweet and medium bitter. Very full sticky body.

Draft at Nederlands Bieren Festival, (Winter) Delft. Hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, sweet malt, toffee, light rye. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and lemon got moderate bitter. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.
