Very dark, clear, reddish brown. Medium head. Smoked wood and ham aroma. Taste of malt and alsosmoked ham, backed by dark syrup and some bitterness.

Pours dark, lots of head, taste is sweetish. Probably a little fuller than the rest of the schlenkerla stable.

Boxed bottle. 2018 vintage, gifted by Eric outside the Loon Factory. Clear dark amber brown. Super solid beige foam stays the full course. How do you describe this beer? It’s as it always is, with this one feeling super refined and smooth. Unreal condition. Cheers Eric, you’re a star.

Bottle. Not a smoked beer fan. Though this is better then many beers out there. Smokey aroma. Really nice color. Tastes ok. Good for what it is but I won’t drink it again. (unless it’s free!)

Bottled @ Hopaholic. Pours deep brown with white head. Strong smoked notes both in aroma and taste, bacon and some cheese. Oh my, do I love rauchbier?

07/2023 Aromat wędzony, szynka wędzona, oscypek. Beżowa piana, klarowne o kolorze ciemnej herbaty, bursztynowe. Smak dymny, słodowy słodki, dym czuć. Nagazowanie średnie, średnia treściwość, finisz dymny, gładkie. Ogólnie fajne piwo, dobre słodowe, ale ta wędzonka to już później się nudzi i przeszkadza.

Soooooooooo smoky. Aroma of smoky burnt malts, smoked bacon, and lots of plain campfire smoke. A great thick mouthfeel, some amazing maltiness, and it mingles so well with the smoke, man this is really a treat, just seems to be more complete than its cousin the Marzen.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Mahogany coloured beer, large beige head. INTENSE and pretty extreme aroma of smoked meat and burnt-out ruins of wooden houses, hints of tar. The flavour is also intensely smoky, but there is also a malty sweetness to back it up. Moderate hops in the finish. You have to be impressed (one way or another) by this beer - but I have trouble deciding if I really LIKE the overwhelming smokiness. I know a lot of people LOVE it - I’ll just say: Give it a try!

Sehr gut!
