Dorothy (1921-1994) was our grandfather’s sister, Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this hoppy Farmstead® ale is crafted from New Zealand and American hops, our distinctive yeast blend and water from our well. Dry hopped, unfiltered, and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Dorothy.

New iteration. Farmstead ale brewed with wheat, fermented with Brettanomyces, and hopped with Citra. Reminiscent of Wheat is the New Hops.

75cl Bottle shared, thanks Julien! Hazy bright yellow colour, big airy white head. Aroma of pure Brett funk, light poo-ish, citrus. Flavour is light, crisp, light malty, lots of citrus, Brett funk, light acidity, bitter finish. Firm carbonation but easy drinking and thirstquenching. Light bodied. Good.

Sample at the Northeastern Brewery (VT) Tasting on 08/16/2015. Hazy pale golden color with a medium white head that evaporates steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops, malt and mildly funky yeast. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, brett yeast, fruit and malt. The finish is funky citrus and hops. Good beer overall.

Bottle courtesy of linusb. Pours very hazy vibrant pale yellow with a big frothy and fluffy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick trace on the glass. Smell is fruity, slightly grassy and funky with crackers, grapefruit juice, pineapple, star fruit, freshly cut grass, hay, pine needles, dry soil, minerals, lemon zest and hints of barnyard. Taste is very tiny sour, slightly bitter, fruity, grassy and tiny funky. Mouthfeel is dry, tiny tart and light to medium bodied. Finish is very tiny sour and bitter with crackers, grapefruit juice, pineapple, freshly cut grass, hay, dry soil, minerals, lemon zest and hints of barnyard. Cool farmhouse IPA.
