Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is honey with notes of red wine barrel and malt. Flavour is sweet with a slightly boozy finish. Body is above medium. I dig the (bit too subtle for my taste) red wine barrel nuances.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style M4A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L109 (BBF 28/11/23). AROMA: medium-high to high floral and sweet honey aroma with a faint malt and woody background. low citrusy fermentation notes. APPEARANCE: amber color and clear. very low white head with low retention. TASTE: initial medium honey flavor followed by faint malt-like notes. faint esters. initial medium sweetness that progresses to a dry finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium-high body with a slight velvety texture. no carbonation. alcoholic warmth. OVERALL: a braggot a bit on the mead-side, rendering the base beer as just a distant background note.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 28.11.2023, thanks VastActiv, at Arde, 20220114) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had spiciness, honey and sweetness. Palate was full bodied and sticky sweet with medium carbonation. Flavours were honey, sweetness, spiciness, honey, more honey and bitterness. Aftertaste had honey and bitterness. An unbalanced brew.

330ml bottle. Sweet, stuffy and heavy with honey, hints of vinous notes and maltiness. Nope.

Heftige zoete smaak. Niet zoals de andere braggots die ik opheb. Veel honing.
