From the blackest depths of the brewhouse comes Damien, Child of Darkness. Spawned from the usually discarded remnants of Darkness, Damien is a dry-hopped black ale with flavors of roasted malt and dark brown sugar. Tangerine and pine aromatics only add to its insidious appeal.

Enjoyed on tap at Jerry's Andersonville in Chicago, IL during a freezing rush hour snow storm waiting for dinner. Appearance is a murky dark brown/black with a thin off white head. Aroma is subtle, not much in a hop profile, someone mentioned the bar floor and I agree. Taste is pretty good, more malty than hoppy, light pine, chocolate and cocoa. It's good, I enjoy it, but Darkness still rules.

On tap at The Depot Tavern. Pours black with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of dark grains and earthy roasted malts with a bit of earthy grass underlying. Flavor has bitter dark grains and roasted malts up front with a bit of grass and dark chocolate in the finish.
