Bottle. Cloudy dark orange sporting a huge white head. Aroma of grapefruits and lemons. Taste of grapefruits, zest, oranges, lemons, peaches, caramel, honey and some spices. Quite tart and tangy. Low bitterness. Medium carbonation. Refreshing and nice but doesn’t really resemble a Heller Bock as it feels more like something, somerhing, something Belgian.

Tasting @ Koelschtrinker. Smooth malty beginning. Round and caramelly, not too deep. Smooth and sessionable in flavour, not much bitterness with a nice and round malty caramelly ending. Fine.

Sampled from 1 l bottle, best before April 2018. Slightly hazy, golden amber with a white head. Sweetish, malty and slightly fruity aroma of caramel, honey and traces of vegetables. Moderately sweet, malty, minimally fruity taste of caramel, honey, straw and some vegetables, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly dry and quite metallic finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!

Fläschla (just 0,01hl): Golden, hazy to cloudy, slowly collapsing loose off-white head; cookies and pale malt in the aroma, distinctive herbal-spicy-hoppy backbone; moderate to almost solid sweet-bitter flavour, nearly full bodied; lingering herbal-spicy and bisquity finish, traces of warming alcohol included. Good! A well balanced, moreish and well quaffable Bock...

1000ml bottle, thanks Timo A.
Pours orange with a small head. Aroma of ripe fruits, earthy notes, hops and hints of grass. Taste is hoppy, earthy and malty with some grainy notes, hints of hay and farmyard. Finish is dry, slightly stuffy, buttery, ripe fruity and earthy with some maltiness and hay. Interesting.
