Aroma of sour apple, tart fruit, light barnyard funk. Flavour is moderate sour and light sweet. Mediocre for the style, but as commercial Gueuzes go I’ve had far worse.

0,25l bottle at home. As Jocobins Gueuze Lambic 5,5%. BB sometime between 1990 and 93. amber clear color, tiny bubbles. smells sherry, peppery, light cardboard, bit leathery, almost a tad smoky. ok smell, as expected heavy oxidation. medium body, no carbonation. tastes peppery at first, sherry, earthy, light cardboard, honey, light sweetness. finishes lightly sweet with notes of sherry and honey. heavy on the oxidation notes, overall not that great.

Orange color, slightly hazy. Oak, caramel and a hint of cherry juice in the aroma. Sweetish oaky flavor with a touch of sourness. Thin. Caramel, citrus and dust. Short aftertaste. .

Bottle - 10 months past bb. Rosy amber with a beige head that's soon less than a coat. Weird aroma of a laundry left mid-clean, paper, apple peel. Quite sour with an acidic finish. No sign of any sweetness.Taste is better with some apples and cherries but not much funk. The aroma clears a bit after a while and it's better as it warms a bit ( a lesson I should have learned from previous Jacobins beers). Presumably something very like this beer is what gets softened up and rounded out in (the lovely) Cuvée des Jacobins. Interesting.

Bottle @ home. Thanks for bringing the bottle dad! Clear medium orange color, average sized white head. Smell and taste are quite nice: lightly green apple peel and unripe citrus fruit, mixed in a way that it provides a slight sweet background, a slight tart / dry note and a light, but dominant sour yet fruity flavor. Quite nice and perhaps also worth noticing: it's super cheap.
