Double Pale Ale. Brewed just once a year, this beer takes everything we love about Double Daisy Cutter and skins it with the tropical impact of Galaxy hops. Typically available in May.

Nice and hazy crisp honey and peach coloured body with a nice tan head. Aroma of crisp resinous and grapefruity hops with a generous dose of alcohol and malt throughout. Medium-bodied; Assertive metallic and pungent malt flavours coupled with a big dose of alcohol and bitter hops, all with a nice and grassy, yet floral bite that shows a touch of pungency, but a mostly smooth, considering the alcohol flavour. Aftertaste has a bit of metal on the end with a lingering bite, some alcohol, a touch of grain and a little grass, but a mostly smooth and pleasantly hoppy kick of pine and grapefruit. Overall, a nice IPA on the imperial-ish side, but still light enough to make a summer drinking beer. Full of flavour and a decent enough beer for lighter, hot days. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can purchased a few minutes ago at New Beer Distributors in New York, New York for US$4,00 on 10-June-2017 sampled walking through SoHo and Greenwich Village in New York on 10-June-2017 with my daughters.

A golden DIPA with a thin white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with grassy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, clover, very nice. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light tropical fruits, light citrus pulp, very nice.

Bottle. It pours a lighly hazed orange color with a thick off white head. The aroma is kind of dank with orange and grapefruit. A little bread in the background. The flavor is the same. Over ripe oranges, some grapefruit, pineapple and medium dank bitterness. Sweaty fruit. Some light hints of honey on the palate, but certainly hop forward for sure. It has an oily body which makes for a full mouth feel. Pretty darn tasty.

Bottle thanks to Bruce. Pours a cloudy orange with frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong grapefruit, pine, resin, and hemp. Medium mouthfeel with nice fruity hop, pinec grapefruit, and resin with nice bitterness. Very impressive.

Location: Draft at Hackney's Printers Row, 6/3/14
Aroma: Grapefruit, pine, some boozy notes, and bready malts on the nose
Appearance: Clear orange color, with a white head, and some spotty lace
Flavor: Has a fairly hoppy flavor, with some grapefruit and bread
Palate: This one has a medium body, aclean mouth feel, and some mild heat to it
Overall Impression: I found this one pretty darn enjoyable overall. I liked the way the big hop flavor worked. Maybe it isn't a perfect beer, and there's flaws here and there (mostly in the flavor), but it works pretty nicely, and overall, I liked it.

Bottle thanks to csteele2144. Pours hazy orange with a medium creamy off-white head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is passion fruit, grapefruit, pine, mango. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, juicy and tropical with just a bit o’pine. Medium body, not harsh at all. Some lingering bitterness. Nice beer.

22 oz. bottle, sent from pantanap (thanks a lot man), pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma of caramel malts, some resinous hops, and some floral notes. Flavour brings out loads of floral hops, some resinous hops, a touch of residual sugars, and some caramel malts. Very well-balanced, with just the right amount of residual sugar. Characterized mainly by the floral and resinous hops. Very good, but I prefer the regular Double Daisy Cutter.
