On draught at Good Karma in San Jose. The beer pours a hazy yellow-gold color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruit, hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of tropical fruit, melon, piney hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

This beer pours rich yellow color, a bit darker than a banana. It’s quite cloudy. Big white head, which mostly dies away after a couple minutes. Some lacing. The aroma is a huge blast of tropical fruit. It smells like melon and kiwi juice with some fruity hoppiness. The melon and kiwi don’t even really smell hoppy. They just smell like the fruit. There’s also pineapple, tangerine, mango, raspberry and yellow grapes. Little to no malt character comes through. The taste is similar. Huge fruit flavors. It again tastes more like fruit than fruity hops. Big bright melon and kiwi, some pineapple, some orange/tangerine, a touch of pine. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they used fruit in this beer. Carbonation is pretty normal. Some body to it. Again, it has a fruit juicey body with a little bit of graininess to it. I’m a big fan. However, I can see how it might not be universally loved by people who aren’t fans of melon. Interesting and tasty to me.
