“STS” is the 3-letter code for our local Sonoma County airport, the Charles M. Schulz Airport. STS Pils is a classic German-style pilsner but with a Russian River twist because we dry hop this beer with a small amount of European hops. It is straw in color and will often have a slight haze due to the fact that there is a small amount of yeast left in the beer. This beer is hop-forward with a firm malt foundation, strong lager yeast characteristic, and a dry, bitter finish.

A truly great Pilsner is a difficult beer to perfect, as its light crisp flavor profile leaves little room for error. Modern brewing techniques (such as open-top fermentation) and old-world traditions create the distinct qualities in STS Pils.

Draft at ØL Beercafe & Bottle Shop in Walnut Creek, California. The pour is a slightly hazed yellow golden with a white foam head that leaves behind thick lace. The aroma is bread, cracker malt, mineral, and a soft herbal spice. The taste is crisp and fresh cracker bread malt, mineral and the herbal spice. The palate is medium to light bodied, unfiltered mouth feel and the crisp clean mineral finish. Delicious and crazy drinkable.

From tap at Russian River, Santa Rosa. Aroma is grainy with straw and hay, as well as mild grassy hops. Light sweet and bitter flavour with a medium body. Crisp and refreshing, a very fine grassy grainy Pils. That’s how it’s done.

Floral, clean, but a strange name for a Kellerbier

12oz can c/o Ryan. Big, frothy, white head. Murky tan yellow/orange body. Mild mouthfeel, very easy, tablebeerish. Lots of subtle nuance, lemon touched noble hops. Nice stuff.

Beer Zombies Vegas. Pint glass. Clear, slightly dull, oily gold with some dirty head. Grainy, steel, a little veggie & rose scent. Fruity dry, astringent herbal-ash premium lager. Frothy, off-dry, a touch ugly. Expected more from the brand.
