Hopped-Up Blonde Ale, 5.4%ABV
Not really a Blonde Ale, not a Pale Ale, not an IPA. Happy Hops is a light colored refreshing ale with a pronounced hop character from the experimental 369 variety (Mosaic).
You may also see a special version of this beer once a year called Happy Hops Harvest, which is brewed with fresh "wet" hops grown locally.

Draft - lots of sharp citrus on the nose. Clear gold with a thin white head. Skunky hops, bitterness up front and lingers as grapefruit pith. Not bad for a wet hop, but nothing that stands out. Also not sure how they do this year round.

Tap. Pours clear amber with a small off white head that dissipates slowly with good lacing. Aroma is strong passion fruit, grapefruit, malt and notes of pine. Flavor is much the same with passion fruit the dominant note. Medium sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, oily and rich textured. I really liked this one.

Draught @ the brewpub. Rated on 21.07.2012
Aroma is fruity and sweetish with mango and some resin. Flavour is sweet and slightly floury(!) with apriocot. A bit too sweet but not bad anyway.

Earthy, barnlike hop aroma with some grapefruit on the end. Clear as can be deep golden-orange with white head and nice lacing. Lots of bitterness. Oily sticks to the tongue. Earth and barn hops without citrus. Some funky estery residual from the hops.

On tap. Pours with a clear golden body with a large and resilient white head. Great lace. Aromas are hoppy, citrusy, orange, herbal, grainy and bready with medium esters. Nice and hoppy. Flavors are fruity, dry, citrus, grainy, light herbal and grassy notes. Estery. Bready and grainy malt bill. Very drinkable. Well attenuated, dry, lively bubbles, easy drinking. A great session beer!

On tap at the brewpub. Pours pure gold with off white head and spotty lacing. The mild aroma hits with citrus and spice hops with a modest background of sweet malts. The taste is fresh crisp delicious hops right up front with spice hops and some grapefruit. The hops move toward grassy-leafy by midway. The bitterness increases as the finish approaches but allows for a moment or two of sweet malt to rise up and be heard. It ends dry with a bit of sour mouth pucker sensation.
