Backlog rating from RBESG 2008, grand tasting: Amber, creamy head. Peaty, burned wood, woodsmoke, really very very smoked. Light to medium body. Not great.

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty oaky caramel aroma. Sweetish malty oaky smoky Islay flavor with hints of caramel. Has a sweetish malty oaky smoky caramel finish.

2007 Var inget bra försök. Whiskey tjäran tog överhanden. 2008 däremot smakar mycket bättre. Här står ölet i centrum men man anar de karaktäristiska islaywhiskey tonerna i både doft och smak. Väl avvägt och mycket drickbart

Bottle 330ml. @ The Danish Summer Gathering, TSODRBSG09.Clear medium amber color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, smoke - peat - whisky notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090822]

Bottle. A clear, copper-colored beer topped by a minimal-sized off-white head. Vanilla, oak, some booze and peat on the nose. Peat and some caramel in the mouth, quite boozy alcohol too. Medium to full-bodied, and too warming to be really pleasant. Alcohol-burning peaty caramel flavor in the finish. I guess I would struggle if I were to drink a bottle on my own, it’s way to alcohol-focused. 090822

Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, 2009. Pours clear dark brown with a small white head. Roast, rye-bread and smoke in the nose. Medium to watery body. Peat smoke and very dry. Not as chewy malty as ex. schlenkerla. OK
