Bottle from House of Trembling Madness, this one at 5.3%. Light hazed gold, nice moderate sized white top, great lacing. Floral, lemon peel, hint of tropics and pine in the aroma - very nice. Nice gentle leafy bitterness with notes of lemon peel and orange pith, light pine and herbal element. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Excellent.

Bottle ordered from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. The 5.5% version. Aroma has low key citrus, spice and pine. Hazy golden orange. Thick shaving foam white. Medium bitter. Tart citrus. Spice. Pine. A touch of the old onion. As per aroma. Just a pleasant bitterness. Light-medium bodied. Average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Straightforward and satisfyingly bitter.

330 ml bottle. Cloudy pale orange, big fluffy head. Grapefruit, lemon peel, tangerine, orange, herbal hoppy notes. Hoppy bitterness, fruity sweetness. Medium bodied, oily creamy texture, lively carbonated, dry hoppy citrussy finish. Great Pale Ale as usual!

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Billed at 5.4%. Pours classic gold, medium transparency, with moderate, very fine white foam. Aroma is delicate piney, resinous. Body is slightly dense, with good carbonation. Taste is medium bitter, with a sweetish residue in the final. Overall, even if bitterness is not extreme, I find it a bit unbalanced. Bitterness is too evident, or not accompanied by other relevant factors.

Rerate: keg at Craft. Bit stinky, grapefruit, pineapple cubes. Taste is good, fruit, minerals, light bitterness. Good stuff. Bottle at home. Pale orange coloured, slightly opaque, small creamy off white head. Aroma is citrus and a touch funky. Lots of lemon and grapefruit, some spiciness, lots of graininess lingering in the background. Taste is less full on. Initial bitterness hit but after a few sips, nice and lemony without being full on in your face. Quite earthy and grainy too. Lemony up front and malt afterwards. Finish is bitter and slightly spicy. Classic Kernel. Tastes a lot stronger than 4.5%.
