Brewing in the land of fire & ice (the Eastern Sierra) since 1995 has brought us to this style of beer, where we use a long intense boil to concentrate color, flavor, and natural sugars. Then, after fermentation, we freeze no more than 2% of the water content out of the beer. This concentrates the alcohol and smooths out the flavor for a true winter seasonal. Like the bliss of a “one swing stick” into ice, this beer will distill your attention down to the single focus of the bend of your elbow. Fire & Eisbock will age well, but do drink one now to compare with our barrel-aged eisbock.

Bottle. Medium reddish-brown. Surprisingly large head for an eisbock. Aroma is light fruitcack with a touch of malty spices. Taste is really unique. Hints of spice, dry fruit that’s slightly sweet upfront with a light dry finish. A really tasty eisbock.

On tap at Lead Dog - Reno, pours a clear dark amber / burgundy with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malt, light toasted caramel, and light herbaceous notes. Flavour is somewhat boozy, with toasted bready malt, moderate dark sugars, and a hint of caramel. Boozy, sweet and malty, but balanced somehow. Not really an authentic doppel-eisbock, but it's pretty respectable.

650ml bottle. Hazy, redd-ish, dark brown colour with small to average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Condensed, caramel malty and fruity aroma, notes of malt lozenge, caramel, a touch of cola, coal ice. Taste is sweet-ish, minimally sugary, dark and caramel malty, minimally toasty, notes of caramel, malt lozenge, hints of toffee, bitter and zesty, citrusy hoppy overtones, hints of orange peel. Relatively light body, well hidden alcohol, good balance due to the refreshening zesty citrusy flavours. Nice.

Bomber, shared. Pours a clear, dark, reddish color, with a small, foamy, tan head. The nose is cherry, white oak, caramel, toast, mild peat, and booze. Sweet and syrupy, with a mild bitterness. Heavy body, with a syrupy, sticky, and hard mouthfeel. This is a big and boozy bock, with lots of earthy and woody character. Harsh at first, but it gets better with each sip.

65 cl bottle @ Timo A’ s. Winter 15-16, BBE 30.11.2016. Aroma has sweet malt and quite nothing else. Also some fruits typical to ASAs. Flavour has sweet malt, ripe fruits abd tart-ish bush leaves. Somewhat infected?
