Pours oily black with a thin tan head. Aroma of burnt malt, aromatic hops. Taste has sweet malt base, mildly earthy with and oily mouthfeel. Palate has lingering maple sweetness, residual mouthfeel. Schwarz in name and appearance only.

$2.24 bottle, TWSP. Dark brown, not quite black. Dusting of a head. Caramel, brown leaf nose. Flavor is sweet caramel, brown grasses and leaves. On the sweet side, which drops the quality.
