2014 750mL bottle drunk 10/8/16.
Very carbonated, as these grape lambics seem apt to be. Pale, waxen-yellow gold with a large, off-white head that fades steadily. Good clarity, of course.
Very "clean" nose, not as in "not-flawed" but rather it’s very low on funk, especially for Cantillon. Nectarine, apricot and light minerality from the grape with moderate "tartness" suggested by the nose. I’d say the wine gets the better of the lambic, but it’s certainly not overdone, so I guess this is just a rather mild, easygoing lambic. Which is fine. No alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth, it’s well-carbonated, but with a supple, tannin-rich texture and fineness to the bubbles. Wood, wine and light sweetness redolent of grape must, though that’s not present. Tartness, bordering on a bit of sourness on the finish, but remarkably soft and mild here. Light wateriness to it and all-around pleasant, but would never put this as a Cantillon.

0,07l taster from 0,75l bottle at Moeder Lambic Original tasting. Bottled 07.05.2021. Yellow cloudy color, small white head. Smells vinegar, earthy, lactic, grassy, earthy. Ok smell. Full body, soft carbonation. Tastes vinous, grapes notes, some stone fruits, earthy, peppery, apricots, spicey, some minerality. Finishes dry and light to medium sour with notes of vinous notes, stone fruits and lactic notes. Vinous with some lactic notes, not the greatest balance

2014 bottle thanks to Shu. Pours golden with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is strong white grape, funk, oak, lemon zest, floral. Thin body, funky, oak, barnyard, lemon, grape, nice tartness, enjoyed this.

Pours lightly hazy golden with a small white head. Aromas of sweet grapes, tannins, light citrussy, light oak. Taste has sweet grapes, candied apricots, light funk, subtle acidity, lightly tannic. Delicious, soft and complex! Glad this was one of the first beers we tried of the night.

Bottle at BXLBeerfest Cantillon tasting (the label said just Chardonnay). Pours hazy golden. Aroma is fruity, grapey, acidic, some peach. Flavor follows the nose, but had also some weird burn I couldn't but my finger on (it wasn't alcohol burn). Overall: well, to just Jean Van Roy's words about this beer: "not my favorite".

From bottle, vintage 2014, at BXL Beer Fest, Cantillon Tasting.
Orange-golden, hazy body, with almost no head.
Aroma of funk, cheese, white wine, pale grapes, horse blanket.
Tastes similar.
Medium a bit velvet mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes medium dry, wooden, medium acidic, a bit tannic, a bit sweet, vinous, with lingering pale grapes.

Tasty. Drinks very vinous, while also a bit like champagne, because of the slightly higher carbonation. Not the most complex grape Cantillon I've had, but a really balanced one, drinks very smooth.
