Our interpretation of a classic Irish Dry Stout. A special blend of roasted barley and character-filled malts gives our Parisian Stout a slightly more bitter edge than others, balancing the smoothness of chocolate with the bite of coffee. Dark de Triomphe is full-bodied and bursting with flavour, served cold and fresh from the brewery with the traditional thick and creamy head. EBC 125.

Draft in Bordeaux. A dark nut-brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of nuts and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of nuts and malt as well as hints of butter, leading to a dry nutty finish.

Reddish dark brown with a big head. Some nutty dark malt nose with chocolate. Thin, tart with bitter coffee notes. Subtle chocolate late. Like cold Bustelo...that’s not good.

Cask at the F&B in Paris. Very dark brown color with a creamy tan head. Dark malty aroma. Medium body with mild carbonation. Smooth dark toast with floral hop. Finishes nearly dry, and florally hopped. Seems English to me.

Cask at the Frog and Rosbif. Black with a reddish tint and creamy tan head; fruity, roasted malt aroma; well-roasted malt flavours, quite seet with a touch of chocolate; dry finish. Very drinkable.

Draught, 5.0% at the Frog and Princess. OK roasted aroma, slightly creamy. The flavour is OK roasted. There is some coffee and also a little paper. Not bad, but perhaps a little anonymous.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is hardroasted malty. Coffeish flavoured with a nice roasted acidity. Breadish dish malty too. Light roasted and acidic finish. Good one.

Had on tap in Paris. Might have had a bad batch cause all I got was vinegar, and lots of it. Pour was beautiful, head takes a while to build over the black body, but when it does it is like a thin layer of off-white milk. Increadable lacing. Aroma was all vinegar and taste was that plus chocolate. Went down nicely though.

Cask at Frog and Rosbif, Paris Black stout, tastes of a good creamy stout, bit more of a coffee edge. Good malt chocolate/coffee finish. Extremely good after a day sights seeing in Paris

From a sampler at the St. Denis location. Pours almost black with a medium thin and foamy beige head. Next to no lacing. The aroma is both roasty and metallic. Kind of thin for a Stout, with flavors of roasted coffee, chocolate and foam rubber. The finish falls a little short too. Disappointing considering this was the only French Stout I got to try on my trip.
