Galibier Avalanche is a hefe weizen-type white beer, partly brewed with wheat malt. The Avalanche, with its orange robe, is naturally cloudy because it is unfiltered. The yeast used for its fermentation brings subtle flavors of banana, vanilla, and white bread.

Bottled 330ml. -Murky orange coloured, small to medium sized white head, banana, apple and touch of vanilla sugar in the nose. Very pleasant nose. Interesting fruit cake (apple strudel) taste with mild wheaty yeasty notes. A bit short and weak finish but all in all nice beer.

It’s so damn brilliant that we got to try these so soon after they opened! Brought to ogivlado by some friends of his from France (thanks!) Poured an odd shiny misty ochre body with a white head. Strong banana in the nose, some apple, actually reminded a lot me of a kind of porridge my mother makes from rolled oats, grated apples, slices of banana and lemon juice. The taste is humm, the same banana in the background. It’s grainy, some light chewed up bubblegum, very very light herbal notes and bitterness, relatively empty aftertaste though. There are some vague notes of "seaweed" that plagued the blonde, but thankfully not too noticable. Again, very interesting, unique (more German than Belgian, but hardly German too). Nice!
