Bottle. Clear golden colour. Very watery taste, mostly hoppy flavour but only little intensity. Citrusy and generally fruity hoppiness, light bitterness, very empty, thin bodied. Worty.

Draught at Beer Fest in Zagreb. Pours a slightly hazy light amber color, topped with a solid white head. Aroma of fruits with some herbal notes. Taste starts fruity with some mild herbal hops. Finishes with some bubblegum sweetness - works nice. A gentle herbal aftertaste. Nicely drinkable and enjoyable. A nice craft effort by a macro brewery.

Deep golden not totally clear, weak but lasting white head. Aroma is malt, floral and citrus not overly strong hops. Taste is lightly sweet caramel, floral to citrus hops. Dry, light bitter finish. Light bodied, medium carbonated. Refreshing.

from www.beershop. hr Dark golden (almost amber) coloured, medium sized white head, hoppy herbal nose. Malty, citrusy hoppy, moderate bitterness and tea like bitterish hoppy finish. Quite nice, well done.

Enormous thanks to Ribafish for sharing these! So... The first Croatian macro attempt at a craft beer, ale even. Daruvar/Staročeško is far smaller than the "big three", however, and their brewmaster Krešo has shown interest in craft beer a long time ago. ABA 5th Element was born, partly, out of their interactions with the Hold’em people, and has some similarities with their beer, but the two are hardly the same. And that’s quite cool. Packaged in old-school 0.5l bottles, with 5 different labels (water, earth, fire, air and, the fifth element, love (awwww)), the thing looks kinda shoddy. Some more care should’ve been taken there, and it might lose some ground because of that. Enough about that, let’s talk about the beer itself. Pours a fine dark golden-orange body with a small white head. The aroma is immediately appealing, full sweetbread aroma, sweetish and smooth, reminiscent of Dalmatian sweet bread called "sirnica" (no, not the Bosnian "burek with cheese" :p, sirnica means something else in Croatia(n)) or pinca, that’s kinda like panettone, only with less raisins. A citric note not unlike citrus/rose aromas used in baking. The taste, thankfully, doesn’t stray far from that, pleasant lemony hops, with some more sweet bread and orange peel notes, transfer seamlessly into a medium, fine bitter hoppy finish on top of an non-obtrusive malty backbone. American Blonde Ale seems to be a valid characterization - it’s not really an APA, but it’s more hop forward than some. This seems to be a success.
