The quintessential expression of Czech beers: a real speciality with the typical bitter aftertaste of Pils. It represents the perfect brewing tradition using floral Saaz hop, malt and the clearest water.

500mL bottle at Majstor za Pivo, pours a hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out cardboard and old grassy notes. Flavour is totally undrinkable, with nothing but cardboard and old grassy hops. The bottle says best before May 2018, but this is already terrible.

From 50cl bottle. Pours a brilliant crisp amber with good foam, white. Aroma is very caramel-like and fruity. Body is average, maybe a little dense, good carbonation. Taste is moderately sweet with minor bitterness I’m the end. Finish is rather short and clean.

50 cl bottle from an Italian supermarket. Grainy malts, cereal, light noble hops. Deep gold with orange tints. Malty, biscuits, bit sweet, touch of hops. Ok balance and not horrible. Doesn’t piss me off.

Bottle, 0.5l. Clear dark golden pour with two finger soapy white head. Good head retention, minimal lacing. Malty nose, slightly grainy, touch of hops. Thin to medium body with prickly carbonation. Moderately bitter, mildly sweet. Nice balance. Aroma is medium malty, medium hoppy. Touch of caramel and grass. Slight vegetable presence in the aftertaste. Hoppy finish, moderately bitter and slightly dry. Overall, pretty good. Clean and crisp, highly drinkable pilsner. Refreshing.
