2016 vintage bottle shared at work. Opaque, orangeish golden pour with quickly disappearing head. Nose is sour berries, with a mellow yet definite spicy touch to it. I mainly pick up cinnamon, but there sure is more going on. Taste is rather sour, but not as much as other Cascade releases. There's some lactic acid and acetic acid too, but they leave space for the fruit and spices, and I'm glad they do. The sip is perfectly rounded and shows its many layers: fruits, spices, acidic touches and funk all come through. Lovely.

Cask days 2016. Murky reddish Brown pour with a off pinkish white head. Aroma is tart, and tangy, subtle spices, pie spices, and some tart cranberry. Mouth feel is flat, carb is extremely soft. Tart finish, not sour. Some random berriness, with some light lactic notes next to no bitterness.

From tap at Borefts 2016. Aroma is big tart cranberries, sourish red fruits, funk and spicy cinnamon. Flavour is nicely medium sour with a slight touch of sweetness. Body is medium. I’m not generally a fan of cinnamon, but it works remarkably well with the tart raspberries in this fine Sour.

8 years old cork top bottle, 0.75l, shared with Leo & Dasa. Aroma is vinous, funky, citrusy and floral with berries’ note. Pours hazy orange brown color with thin creamy off-white head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts tart and funky vinous with cranberry and acidic note, following is grainy with tannins and cinnamon, while mouthfeel is quite smooth. Medium to full body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Another gem…

205 bottle, 750ml. I might have been circumspect buying this beer, esp for $30. But figured given the ABV, bottle conditioning, and sourness would hold up. And for the most part it did, but I'm not entirely sure how this fares compared to a fresh bottle. First it pours a cloudy reddish, after pouring the sediment, it was really cloudy, even particulate, almost looked like tomato juice it was so thick. Nose featured a vinegarish component, a bit like apple cider vinegar. Also a vague medicinal note or maybe acetone, nightshade vine, vague fruit. Flavor very similar, somewhat medicinal, the spices are there but I can't pick out any one of them. Fairly sour, semi-sweet. Good overall beer, medium carbonation. I can't help but think well past its prime but was still interesting, neat. Not worth what I paid for it though.

Bottle. Cloudy brown-orange. Nose is caramel, vinegar, cherry, cranberry. Tart and acidic, cranberry, caramel. Decent though not among the best I have had from them. Cranberry tartness and sour fermentations just make it very sour.

Cascade Cranberry 2015 Sour Ale Pretty orange with a pinkish tinge and a very soft mouthfeel. Mouth puckering sour cranberry but pretty well balanced. I enjoyed it.
