Ond shows our love for smoked and dark beers. Strength-wise, it belongs to robust porters, which means it has a slightly higher alcohol level and a medium body. The smoked character is incorporated into the entire beer and does not obscure the combination of roasted malts that give it a chocolaty and caramely character. To top it all off, we have added a carefully selected combination of Slovene and American hops that together, in the form of a slightly herbal woody note, conclude the complexity of Ond. Another true homage to lager beer brewing with 0 shortcuts. Only the best ingredients you can gather to brew a beer and the best possible brewing technique.

Pours virtually black from the bottle. A creamy, dirty tan head turns thin and lingers. Aroma is full of toast, ash, coffee. Taste has strong roasted notes and is mildly bitter. Body is medium, smooth, rich, creamy. Overall a very solid, classical porter with a bit more smoke than usual. Only my second brew from this brewery but both have been very nice.

Bottle, 0.33l. Black pour, half finger frothy beige head, low to medium retention. Some lacing. Nose is roasted malts, coffee, medium smoke. Medium body, soft carbonation. Pleasant mouthfeel, soft and creamy texture, very smooth. Roasty bittersweet, medium smoked taste. Malty aroma, caramel and roasted, licorice, coal. Medium coffee, very subtle cocoa. Herbal spicy aftertaste, dry finish. Overall, tasty and well rounded smoked porter. Really nice.

Not extremely smoked, good balance. Love the crisp hops mixed with grainy malt and the kick of smoke. One of their best, most unique beers.

On tap at Lajbah, pours black with a large tan head. Aroma brings out lots of smoked notes upfront, with toasted bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with medium smoke, light roast and toasted biscuity malt. Nicely structured, with a dry roasted finish.

Fra flaske 330ml. Delt med Rune på Skarven 1 Nov 11. Svart. Filmskum. Behagelig røykaroma. Smaken litt torv. Lett syrlig etter hvert. Grei - men lite variasjon.

330ml bottle at VertsHuset Skarven, kindly shared by Finn. Deep dark brown body, almost naked at the surface, fragile lacing. Smoked dark malty nose, undercurrent of malty sweetness. The taste character consists of smoked meat, wood and liquorice. Roasted malty ending. Medium bodied. Quite pleasing. (Tromsø 01.11.2017).
