The oxymoron of the style name could not fit beer to Rudeen’s taste. His deep mahogany black colour is not only for the looks but also hides a generous amount of chocolaty caramel roastiness. Hops gives it a huge fruity and resiny aroma and taste. It is creamy, refreshing and bitter at the same time. We advise you to close your eyes, smell and then taste this bold beer which marries stout, porter and a big IPA. A perfect balance between hops, mellow roastiness from the malt, creaminess and drinkability is something that we are especially proud of. Be careful! He bites!

Can 33 cl. Pours a clear black with an orange hue and a small, beige head. Nose is sweet roasty and nutty with somewhat greasy hops. Medium body, subtle roast, sweet roast and licorice with avery bitter finish - probably from hops and malt combined. Lacking on the aroma side. 090223

330 ml can. Murky black with a beautiful stable fluffy head. Spicy hops, rubber, intense tannins, leather and earthy notes, burnt malt, bitter herbs, robusta coffee. Intense hoppy bitterness. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, intense long bitter finish. Wow, what an intense and hoppy beer!

Pours to a dark murky brown with a 1cm light tan head, stable. Nose is yeasty, raw barley, bready, dark malts, coffee, hints of fruit. Taste is dark malts, coffee, chocolate. Interesting up front, if a little too intense, but the long lingering astringent bitterness lets it down. Reading the other reviews here leave me wondering if I am drinking the same beer.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours fully black, with a nice creamy foam, beige. Aroma is earthy, a little licorice, herbaceous. Body is fairly dense, with average carbonation. Taste is medium-high bitter, a little bit of sweetness. Final is fairly dry.

Zelden iets teleurstellende op van Bevog. Ook deze is weer dik in orde. Licht roosterig, licht hoppig. Geen van de twee overpowered de ander.
