This is just a fragment from an actual conversation between a Zagreb-based metal band ThroaTTwisteR and us. We've always been fans of underground music community and we support underground from our beginnings, so this music-beer collaboration came naturally.

Their fierce groove metal goes perfectly with a cocktail of hops used in this beer, and that's how we created ThroaTTwisteR Double/Imperial IPA (also dubbed Tetejac, a moniker for the Soviet TT pistol :) ). Don't underestimate this beer - drink carefully. Hashtags like #LjudiPijteVode (#Don'tForgetToDrinkWater) and #ISeeDeadPeople often follow it on social media, and there's a good reason for that - this beer packs 9% ABV that you barely notice at first, but you'll end up under the table if you're not careful. We recommend that you accompany TT with a decent amount of water. Trust us, it's a pretty good idea.

Style: Double IPA

Had the earlier batches, didn't get a chance to rate. On tap at Harat's Beer Boutique, Gajeva, Zagreb. Hazy orange, small off-white head. Moderately hoppy, fruity, citrus, tropical, vanilla, also grassy. Slightly harsh aroma, smooths out in the flavour. Hop driven, fruity flavour. Juicy, slightly bitter, medium body, strong, alcohol present. Moderate finish.

On keg at Six Degrees North, Edinburgh. Appearance - amber with decent lacing. Nose - orange and perfumed. Taste - long marmalade note but could be fresher on the finish. Palate - medium bodied, tangy texture. Tangy finish bit could be cleaner. Overall - nice.

On tap at Lajbah, Ljubljana. Pours slightly hazy, yellow golden, topped with medium sized foamy white head, ok lasting. Tropical fruity aroma, pineapple and mango. Moderate bitterness, slight fruitiness. Herbal, dry finish and lasting herbal aftertaste. Medium light body. Not bad at all.

On tap at Craft Room, pours a hazy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, some resinous hop oils, and sweet cereal malts. Flavour is robust, with loads of piney hops and resinous hop oils, backed by just enough sweet caramel biscuity malt. Oily palate, with those hop resins coating the mouth. Excellent.

On tap at Croatian Homebrew Championship. Pours hazy golden with medium white head. Strong hoppiness, tropical fruit, citrus, grapefruit, dank, quite juicy. Lasting bitter finish. Smooth. Medium to full bodied. Finally an IPA with non sweet/caramel profile. Good thing the keg was finished in 15 mins cause this is dangerously drinkable for the abv. Best Croatian beer I’ve tried.
