Our homage to London’s greatest export. This Porter is dark brown, almost black, in colour and is reminiscent of Porters of old. Big coffee notes leap from the glass with a slight charred oak aroma in the background. The palate is greeted by sweet dark berries followed by espresso and dark chocolate.

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. A milky mocha aroma. Dark cola brown. Some off-white bubbles around the rim. Creamy sweetness with some umami. Milk chocolate. Nuts. Some tart berries in the finish. The liqourice is there as I dribk more. Thick bodied. Creamy. Flat carb. Relatively abrupt finish, an astringeny aftertaste. Quality porter.

Cask at Eastbourne Beer Festival. A quite bland porter with little to sing about but certainly passable.
