Bottle at Woodies, Zwolle. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, liquorice, touch of nuttiness with a hint of peanut in the finish. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, could use some carbonation. More peanuts as well, for that matter.

22/4/2021. Can sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers! Pours black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma of peanut, caramel, milk chocolate, vanilla and roasted malts. Quite heavy sweetness with light roasted bitterness. Medium body, smooth texture, soft carbonation. Good but a bit too sweet for my liking.

330 ml bottle, from Oddbins Aberdeen City. ABV is 6.5%. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head of poor retention. Aroma of roast malts, coffee, chocolate and peanuts. Moderate carbonation, soft mouthfeel. The flavour is slightly dry, with the same elements as in the aroma. Well balanced. Very moderate hops.

It’s like drinking a roasted malt Starbar! Pours dark brown, near black, with a frothy tan head, which disappears very quickly, and a sweet milk chocolate aroma with a touch of peanut going on. It’s a little over-carbonated, and on the thin side, but the milk chocolate and salted peanut taste is wonderful, with a background of roasted malt, hints of coffee and a dry bitter finish

Can from Beer 52. A really strong peanut aroma that hits as soon as the can is open. Pours pretty much jet black, minimal trasient head, but that is dark brown too. Peanuts are there strongly in the mouth as well, but there’s a lot of chocolate as well. Plus those traditional porter tasters liquorice and dark fruits too. Finish is – surprise, surprise – nutty ! Quite nice and not overwhelmingly nutty – you can taste the porter underneath.

[33cl can from Beer52] A glossy black pour with a fast fading tan head; rich chocolate aroma; smooth in the mouth with chocolate and peanut butter to start; then little else.

330ml can, collaboration with Beer52; BB 8th Sep 2021. Poured into an old Chimay chalice at home on 18th Nov 2020. Fast fading tanned foam on a dark, OK black body. Nose is chocolate and nuts, taste is coffee, chocolate and nuts. They mention salt in 'the write up' and because of that I found evidence of the said condiment! Wouldn't have if they hadn't put the idea into my head.

330ml can @6.5% from Beer52 which states this is a colab beer. If by 'colab' they mean it was included in the subscription box then yeah fine, but most people would think that Beer52 commissioned this as a new beer at some point and I see no evidence. I don't like sneaky. Anyway... Pours black almost like a stout, a nice small brown head but only minor retention. Aroma is stunning - big chocolate, peanuts, lightly roasted malts, sweetness, vanilla Moderate to full body, smooth but thick, not quite a milkshake but getting there. Low soft carbonation works here. Taste is chocolate, peanuts, a touch of salt, vanilla, a sweetness builds before a strong bitterness shows in the finish. Its very nice, the flavour doesn't quite match the aroma but very enjoyable.
