The beer is an American style pale ale brewed with Pale and Munich malts to provide a smooth malty backbone to balance out the ample hops we threw at it. Hopco wanted to give some lesser known hop varieties some exposure so the following blend of hops were chosen: NZ Cascade, Motueka and Pacifica which together combine to give the beer a rich key lime pie / lemon curd cheesecake aroma and a light resinous character on the palate all backed up by a satisfying whack of bitterness. We'd like to think the NZ hop growers would get around a few pints of this one during their upcoming harvest.

Tap at Smith Street Taps, Singapore. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is yeast, grassy citrus hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a fresh crisp light tart citrus fruit hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

355mL can, pours a hazy golden with a medium off-white head. Aroma brings out dry crackery malt and dry dusty hopping. Flavour is along the same lines, with crisp dry crackery malt and punch dry hopping. Nicely balanced, with a very dry palate that makes this quite drinkable. Better than the average rating suggests.

From a 355ml can on 6/5/2016. Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a small hea. The nose is quite floral and grassy. Take a sip and you get biscuity malt, lots of citrus fruit, with lemon dominating, and some apricot. The hops are pretty big and intense, a touch spicy, and linger in the mouth. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A pretty tasty, quite bold APA.

355ml can into pint. Spicy citric hop aroma. Slightly hazy golden beer with two finger white head. Light carbonation with tiny bubbles. Flat, clean mouthfeel. Palate is subdued but intricate, there’s a quiet bitterness and an underlying malt background. Really, just a well made (and enjoyable) quaffer. Nice.

Growler. Rose amber with a white head that lasts pretty well. Aroma of lime, gooseberries, lychees, grass. Light bodied - not at all watery but really swiggable. Light sweet bready malt flavours with a tiny lick of caramel, stone and tropical fruit, peppery grass. Some red berries emerge after a time. Dry, moderately bitter finish. [3.7]Can. A little less vibrant. I’d take off palate, but I’m going to leave score as is.
