Naravno, Double Claw je Double IPA. Prilično popularan stil piva u zadnje vrijeme, čisti hedonizam u hmelju, stil koji predano i neustrašivo pomiče granice jačine piva i količine hmelja u njemu. Dakle, kako je i red kad se nešto zove Double IPA, Double Claw ima stvarno jako puno hmelja. I okusa. I alkohola. Ili kako kažu zmajstori pivari i pritom se zadovoljno hihoću: We doubled everything, even the claw!
Glavne zvijezde Double Clawa su El Dorado, Mosaic i Simcoe, hmeljevi čija je kombinacija oblikovala ovo slavljeničko pivo tropskog okusa sa 68 IBU i dosta visokih 7,9% ABV. Na etiketi će pisati i DDH iliti Double dry hopped što je često kod Double IPA piva i, jednostavnije, znači – fešta od hmelja! Eksplozija aroma i okusa, jako pivo zapakirano u svježinu grejpa i mirise ananasa i tropskog voća.
Najzahmeljenije zmajsko pivo izlazi kao dio limitirane serije, pivarskog igrališta Brewer's Concoction i moći će se probati (i to sad ili nikad) iz boce ili s pipe Taprooma Zmajske pivovare.

Bottle. Hazy amber golden, large and lasting offwhite head. Strong fruity nose, citruses, sweet notes and lychee, resin, lots of lemongrass. Medium sweet, fruity, resin. Some alcohol warmth. Medium body.

Bottle, 0.33l. Cloudy orange pour with reddish hue, thin soapy white layer on top, short lasting. Minimal lacing on the glass. Nice on the nose, good balance between herbal and hop notes, nice tropical feel to it. Medium body, medium carbonation. Fizzy mouthfeel, prickly on the tongue. Thick and creamy texture, smooth. Bittersweet taste, as expected far more on the bitter side. Pleasant fruity aroma, tropical notes, grapefruit, orange, pineapple. Caramel malt in the background. Mild herbal spiciness, subtle alcohol presence. Dry and sticky. Medium to long finish. Quite tasty.

Clearish golden colored, medium white head. Moderate+ hoppy citrus and grapefruit, some tropical fruit, bit grassy, medium + bitterness, dry finish, light alcohol, moderate malty sweetness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, oily.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of pineapple, passion fruit, mango, resin and caramel. Pours cloudy golden color with medium sized creamy off-white head, good lacing and sparkling appearance. Taste starts moderate sweet malty, follows by ripe tropical fruit with grassy and medicinal note, mouthfeel is warm and mild spicy, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium to full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Double pleasure...

Bottle from Glam Cafe, Dubrovnik, 23/04/19, drank nekkid in the hotel room - cheers to St George! Hazed orange with a decent off white cap, carbonation is evident. Nose is juicy citric peel, light pine, cantaloupe melon, papaya, grass. Taste comprises orange pith, grass, pineapple, ripe melon, light pine, apricot, mango. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with juicy hop bitterness. Decent enough easy drinking DIPA.

On tap at Valhalla, Zagreb. Cloudy golden, white head. Nice hoppiness in aroma, tropical fruit, grassy, some sweetness, smooth, medium bitterness in finish. Good malty backbone. Medium bodied.

Bottled 330ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Clear pale golden coloured, medium sized white head, citrusy and tropical fruits in the nose. Citrusy fruity, spicy, tropical fruits and light grapefruit with notes of alcohol and rather bitter finish. Pleasant.

Tap at Hop In (and, later, Valhalla and maybe Craft Room too). Clear golden body, white head. Strong fruity hoppy aroma. Very much a Pozoj on steroids taste-wise, aromas of tropical fruit, apricot, some citrus fruit, good full maltiness, generally very pleasant. Some peppery-herbal bitterness that's kinda out of sync with the other tastes, but otherwise a very nice beer.
