Wiibroe Porter (Imperial Stout) is still remember as the world's best Porter. It was launched to the market in 1930. The aroma is dominated by caramel and liquorice, just as the beer has a powerful taste of English liquorice, toasted chocolate malt and caramel. Wiibroe Porter is brewed with copious amounts of Münich malt and caramel malt, which give a deep dark brown color and light brown foam.

Bottle at home, courtesy of HenrikSoegaard, I believe? BB 2019, I think Henrik cellared this for 8 (?) years. So, spoiler alert, it might have been too long. The aroma is mostly gone, some molasses, dried fruits and chocolate show, but it’s dusty somehow. Taste is pretty similar, decent, but past its zenit I think. I’m glad I got to try this, but it probably was better a year or two ago.

Bottle from Carlsberg Brewery. Actually a really nice imperial porter. Nice little foam as all good porters have, a deep coffee flavour. Clingy.
