500ml bottle from Beers of Europe, shared with jeevan. Big hop aromas, really nice nose, passionfruit, mango, peach, and then some cereal at the back. Taste has a good bitterness, but the texture is strangely thin, really expected a richer mouthfeel for this strength, and finishes short.

Cask at the Le Gothique’s Halloween Beer Festival 2013. Poured a light golden colour with a halo of rocky off white head. Aroma of grapefruit, hay and cereal. Sweet flavours of dates and pear-drops, balanced with some grassy hops. Finish was full and malty with toffee and a little hop resin bitterness to balance.

Cask at EBF XVI, 07/11/13. Lightly hazed pale golden with a moderate white covering that retains well. Nose is burnt rubber, dark fruit notes, light tropical fruit, sugar, bitter orange. Taste comprises orange pith, rich toffee, straw, tarte fruits, sugars. Full bodied, fine carbonation, dry finale with light booze. Ok barley wine, a strange one tbh, veering towards a triple IPA type of thing with the grassy tropical notes on show.
