Bottle, source not recorded. Poured almost black with a very small short lasting off-white head. Aroma of light roasted malt, hint of chocolate and nut. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness with a hint of tartness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, soft carbonation. Ok.

500ml bottle: BBD 25 May 2013. Poured (twice) into a Palm badged stemmed tulip at home on 26 Apr 2013. Deep, dark reddy brown with a good solid tan head on top from both pours. Mildly malty in the nose: coming stronger as the beer warmed in the glass. Slight smokey feel (peat bog style) to the semi-sweet malty taste. The beer appeared to be ’on the turn’ as I got stale and vinegar flavours within the brew: I’ve scored as if they were not there!

Bottle from B&M. Inoffensive mild ale, black without a head. Some roasted aroma, little taste.

Very thin watery texture with a sharp edge. Some light caramel and a drying bitter finish.

500ml bottle - a solid black body with a thin beige head, a feint smoky nose, with a hint of mild fruits. First taste is a delicate malt, very thin palate, with a slightly acidic after taste. Nothing really screams out, it was just okay really.

500ml bottle at 3.8%. Pours dark cola brown with a medium head. Aroma is bready malt and raisin. Taste has a caramel sweetness to start and a watery, raisin and co2 finish. A little coffee bitterness.

50cl bottle from Tesco, ABV 3.8%. Deep magohany with a cherry red glow and a fading beige head; nutty, caramel, malty aroma; dry, with a earthy malt taste; and a very light touch of hops to lift and freshened the finish. A good mild.
