Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Chestnut with a ring of cream head; rather watery malty aroma; thin body with a strangely vegetable taste and some caramel; and a weak bitterness to finish. Not very good.

Crosse Keys Spoons. Cask. Clear deep amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and crispy. Nice condition. Big malts, clean. Well balanced bitterness. Dry finish. Bitter linger. Standard stuff but clean. Just a bit dry.

Cask at the crosse keys bank. Light amber orange coloured pour with a small halo of white head. Aroma is subdued, a little orange and twig but not much else. Flavour is clean and easy going with orange, light touch of Christmas spices and some caramel malts. Palate is medium bodied low carbonation and easy drinking. OK but a bit boring.
