Belinda Gould has travelled to Hook Norton Brewery, in Oxfordshire, to brew this beer especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. This golden beer has a lemon and citrus aroma, from the New Zealand hops whose notes continue into the flavour, with moderate bitterness, balanced by rich flavours from the English malts used. The addition of wheat malt leads to a full head and pleasing mouthfeel.

Cask @ Bridge House JDW, Belfast [131114]
Amber, slight haze, dense white head
Aroma of light citrus, light malts
Taste of soft caramel malt, slight citrus, little NZ hops
Palate - Medium to light body, bit creamy. Finish is light bitter.
Overall - Found this dull, little hops. Disappointed with this. But everything Iโ€™ve tried from this particular pub over the last couple of days has been rather dull as well...

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Light amber with a thick off-white head and a moderate sparkle. Pine up front, decent crispness, some grapefruit and melon. Dry, mildly bitter finish that is quite refreshing. Flavours are maybe a little restrained but itโ€™s a decent beer that feels nicely balanced and well-brewed. Yeah, not bad.
