On tap at Patrick’s. It’s a hazy pinkish copper coloured beer with a small dense pinkish white head. There’s a fine fruity, berryish touch in the aroma, with a touch of malts and lemon juice in the back. It’s fruity on the palate, thin, with a soft carbonation. Some lemon and milky sourness. Long cherry finish with a touch of milky sourness. Refreshing and tasteful. 140927

On tap at Christian Firtal. Red with a lasting white head. Aroma of lactic acid, cherry and butter. Sweet and tart flavour, dominated by cherry. Quite tart for a Berliner Weisse.

On tap at Brewdog Leeds, pours a clear cherry red with a small beige head. Nose brings out faded cherries, dishwasher detergent, and tart wheaty notes. Flavour brings out the same dishwasher fluid, soap, faded cherries and lightly tart wheat. Something is off here - way too soapy and chemically. Not a disaster but no where close to a refreshing and well-constructed Berliner.

Belgians are still better at it, but not bad!
