500 ml bottle, from Ales By Mail. ABV is 4.5%. Malts are Maris Otter pale, crystal, dark crystal, chocolate, beech-smoked, oats. Hops are Bramling Cross, Cascade and Fuggles. Chestnut to mahogany colour, small off-white to beige head. Aroma of caramel and spices (coriander, cinnamon, fennel, ginger, caraway, cloves and nutmeg). The flavour has first some fruitiness, chocolate and roast malts, hints of blackcurrants, then the spices take over with some complexity. Some hop bitterness and more roastiness with a hint of smoke in the finish and aftertaste. Good beer.

Bottle from Booths Supermarket, Media City. Clear dark copper-amber. Spicy ale with a robustness for it, it also feels smoked in its aftertaste. Its spiciness is a gentle one with a herbal-infused aroma. Decent winter ale.
