Brewdog Shepherd Bush. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Amazing nose of rum and raisin and mint choc chip ice cream! Sublime! Palate is smooth with decent fine carbonation. Taste follows the nose closely adding a creamy dark malt. background. Trace of rum soaked dark fruits. Soft and semi dry finish. A bit of a stunner truth be told!

Keg at Brewdog Shepardโs Bush. Clearing up the last of the tap takeover. Aroma is intense sweet caramel, vanilla, rum and raisin cakey malts, booze, dried fruits, figs and raisin. Dark brown / opaque black coloured pour with a nice but fleeting dark tan head. Flavour is big and bold, rounded caramel, with tangy booze soaked fruits, rum and oak, little cakey malts. Pretty smooth for the abv. Palate is full and smooth on the tongue with tingling carbonation. Lingering wood and oak tannin on the tongue, lingering sharp tangy dried fruits. Really good.

Keg at BD SB - London. Pours deep black-brown with a creamy tan head. Great aroma with hits of dark malts, rich dark fruits, cinnamon. Medium sweet flavor with more dark malts, rich toasted dark malts, some spices, further cinnamon, chocolate, hints of torched wood. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming finish with more general dark malts, more cinnamon, cocoa, mild earthy bitterness. Some ripe fruits in the finish. Very tasty. Great depth, good drinkabilty. Outstanding.

Keg at IMBC 2013. It pours opaque darkest brown with a small beige head. The nose is rich roast, toast, chocolate, mint, chocolate matchmakers, dried fruit, creaminess and wood. The taste is rich roast, chocolate, toast, earth, creamy, after eight mints, rum, dark fruit, wood and mild acidity with a dry, toasty finish. Full body and fine, prickly carbonation. Brilliant balance and great depth. Utterly drinkable. Bravo SWB!

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - opaque black with a thin crema head. Aroma - Crunchie bar, so honeycomb I guess, that interesting void between chocolate and sugar. Itโs got notes I normally associate with Belgian beer. Taste - more Crunchie bar and although this is mostly all Iโm getting itโs a big note. This is despite this beer being too cold. Palate - huge in body, thick in texture long and sweet but relatively balanced on the finish. Overall, another please barman!

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Jet black with good light-tan head. Aromas are dark sugars, rum, plum, light roasted notes. Tastes had a heat from the booze, but also a rounded sweetness. Very nice. Not had the original, but this is a lovely imperial stout, so will seek it out.

take away at home ... deep black ... thin tan head ... soft rich rum ... plum ... light fruity roast nose ... deep mellow roast ... shed loads of fruity cola rum ... dark malts ... little chocolate ... loads of dark rich sugers ... chocolate ... warming rum but no roughness ...
