Named after an early 1900’s hop store building at St. James’s Gate where hops are still stored, Hop House 13 is a double-hopped lager made with Irish barley and aromatic hops and continues the 256 years of heritage and brewing excellence at St. James’s Gate.
A crisp and full-flavoured lager with subtle malty notes and fresh hop aromas with hints of Apricot and Peach.

Draft @ Saints Bar, Maynooth. Dorée, col blanc. Arôme offre un bouquet classique lager avec un rétro houblonné fin fruité et effet de blossom. Palais est léger, malté, cara pils, crisp, petite touche biscuitée, un peu d'effet honey dew, amertume fine sur la fin et un retour du côté malté.

On draft. Pours an effervescent gold, thick white head, nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine and bready malts, some hay there too. Taste is hoppier than I imagined, mostly refreshing pine and a bit of citrus. Thin mouthfeel, nice quick finish.

500ml bottle from RusBeerShop in Moscow. Pours clear amber with a small white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, light hoppiness. Taste is caramel, lightly toasted malt, light bitterness. More like a Vienna lager.

Can: Poured a bright clear golden color lager with a large pure white head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of sweet cereal notes with light adjunct notes is OK. Taste is a mix of sweet cereal notes with light adjunct is OK. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. OK lager with limited amount of complexity.

Bottle at work. A bright golden orange coloured pour with a fine white head, fading. Aroma is grassy skunky hop, wet veg, vague toffee. Flavour is composed of thin grains, toast, grassy hop, chalky with a metallic bite in the finish. Palate is thin, carbonaic bite, highish carbonation. Pretty poor.

Bottle at Delaney's, Brugge. Pours clear golden with a small, foamy, white head. Aroma of hops, wheat, grain, some sugar, honey & citrus. It tastes light grainy sweet and light to medium hoppy/wheaty bitter; wheaty, bready finish. Light body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Decent.

Bottle, 10C. 4.1% ABV. Amber with a modest white head. Aroma of grain and toast with apple, light tropical notes and grass. Carbonation is on the low side for a commercial lager. Taste goes along with the aroma with a pretty decent bitter finish - although there's a harshness about it after a while. Some stewed notes amongst the fruit and some apple peelings. Maybe I should have started colder - the first 1/3 was OK but it impressed less and less.
