Keg at the Eagle, Cambridge. Dark gold, clear with a smallish white head. Pleasant aroma of hibiscus, citrus and hay. Taste is quite sweet - artificially so - with a jarring saccharin aftertaste. Long medicinal finish. Thin body, carbonated to high heaven. Reasonable but won’t become a favourite of mine anytime soon.

Golden color with a nice white head. Looks good. Malty, herbal, mild citric and mild fruity. A quite fresh and nice lager. Medium body and a fine carbonation. Ok balance.

Keg at the Claremont Arms, Blackrock, Co Louth 27/06/15. Clear golden with a decent white cap that retains well. Nose is pale malt, floral notes, light bread, citric peel. Taste comprises light hop strokes, tangerines, melon, soft bread, grassy notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. The CHF’s are that this is a perfectly drinkable lightly hopped lager, good summer crusher. If this had been brewed by Mikkeller or ToOi, I’m sure it would have attracted higher scores. Beer xnobes hang your heads !

Keg @ Croke Park Hotel [100415]
Light blonde, clear, thin white head
Nose of light zest, touch of soft fruits
Taste of light sweet pale malts, soft citrus zest, touch of soft fruits, quite sweet malts
Palate - Medium carb, medium light body, quite sweet. Finish as main flavour, light zest afters
Overall - This was offered at the same price as Heineken - this is a much better lager. For a macro produced one it’s not bad at all, maybe a tad sweet and too safe with the hops
