Named after an early 1900’s hop store building at St. James’s Gate where hops are still stored, Hop House 13 is a double-hopped lager made with Irish barley and aromatic hops and continues the 256 years of heritage and brewing excellence at St. James’s Gate.

Dieses helle Bier aus der berühmten Guinness-Brauerei ist benannt nach der Hausnummer des alten Brauhauses. Ungewohnt, ein solches Bier zu finden, da man zwar überall das Stout findet, aber mein erstes Helles. Dementsprechend hoch waren die Erwartungen. Es ist ein speziell gehopftes Lager, das aber nicht wirklich allzu besonders ist. Man kann es gut trinken, aber vielmehr als ein Becks oder Ottakringer ist es auch nicht. Hier schafft man ein solides Bier, bei dem man ruhig etwas kreativer sein hätte können.

clear darker golden colour, one inch of creamy white head; aroma of wet grains, herbal and moderate apple notes; taste of a hoppy lager with some slight apple and minimal citruses; quite ok lager with perfect appearance

0.44l can with a Guinness logo on it. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Bready malts and some apples in the aroma. The taste has a bit more character than the aroma. Bready malts appear here too with a generous amount of spicy hops. Traces of grapefruit and apples show up too. Nothing spectacular here, but it's still drinkable.

Look: foggy deep golden with a moderate white well-lacing head. Aroma: pilsner malt, minor special malts, light butterscotch, alpha sourness. Light to medium body. Taste: clean malts, spicy and somewhat grassy hops. Light plus bitterness. Decent being an industrial lager.

On tap at the Dublin Airport. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has earthy hay and straw with a hint of wet grass backing. Flavor has light straw and hay with a touch of sweet grain underlying.

Flesje gedeeld met Tomhendriksen, Benzai en keukenboer. Licht amberkleurig bier met matig schuim. Weinig aroma. Smaak is waterig en licht hoppig. Nasmaak is iets bitter.

Smell- weak, hops, malt. Foam- thin, hoppy, weak bitter notes, a bit of malt. Head is medium to large, orange, white, creamy color seems sticky. Appearance- nice 13 bottle cap, unique bottle, and simple design. Amber, orange color, clear, some quite weak carbonation on sides and inside. Taste- hops, refreshing (because its cold), some bitter notes with accompanying sweetness, not too hoppy, some malt. Generally decent and drinkable.
