You can’t miss the outline of the Sugarloaf mountain as you travel through Abergavenny and you shouldn’t miss this full-bodied bitter either. Sugarloaf is a medium-dry beer, full of colour and flavour suited to all tastes. A rounded full-bodied ale with smooth caramelised undertones.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 04/05/10. Deep copper in colour with a slight, off-white head. Sweet, caramel and powdered chocolate aroma. Flavour was more of the same with a short, bitter finish. Ok.

on tap at the brewery’s pub Kings Arms Abergavenny. Deep brown colour with a small creamy head. Very malty with some honey and caramel, roasted malt and chocolate. Lingering malty-sweet finish with a nice touch of bitter hops.
