Some traditions are newer than others. Church Street is proud to present our take on the American IPA with this dry-hopped, West Coast IPA that’s brimming with Cascade hop aroma, giving this tangerine-beauty a fruity and refreshing nose. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself sniffing more than sipping! A bold bitterness is rounded out by notes of citrus and grapefruit, and a slightly hoppy finish. Cheers!

Bottle (well out of date) from Craft Beer Oasis, Crewe – drank at home. Ooh ! Tons and tons of froth on this one ! When it finally dies down you’re left with a murky orange-brown pour with an off-white head. The aroma is mainly old school hops and chunky orange peel, but with some sweet candy underneath. In the mouth it has an oily texture with loads of hoppy bitterness. Flavours too of marmalade, ginger and pine. Finish is also bitter and sticky (in a good way). After an unpromising start, this is great – love all the bitterness !

Sample at the taproom. Clear pale copper color with a thin ivory white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of fruit, mild hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of fruity hops, pine and grainy malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short piney hop aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Thanks to Dave! Pours unclear gold with a thick, off-white cream head. The nose holds citrus, light grain and pith. Light sweet flavor with off notes of cigarette, some crackery pale malts, old pine. Light bodied with average to lively carbonation. Piney bitter finish with notes of citrus rind, off ash, more old pine. Meh, not great.

Bottle shared at Craft Beer Co. 10/09/2015. Many thanks to The Wingman for this one. Translucent golden / orange coloured pour with a lasting off white frothy head. Aroma is nice midget gem hop, fruity citrus, parma violets. Flavour is composed of semi-sweet bready malts, light biscuit, tropical citrus, pine and wood. Assertive hop bitterness. Palate is frothy, chewy with airy carbonation. Grainy finish. I liked this.

Craft Clerkenwell Bottle Share. Thanks to WMW. Hazy amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Airy palate, mild fine carbonation. Fluffy malts, mildly sweet, light dry cream. Hop spice. Trace of sweet pine and floralness. More hop spice. Airy finish. Not bad.

Bottle thanks to the Wingman. It pours murky orange-amber with a thick off-white head. The nose is earthy, bitter-sweet, doughy, wood, lemon verbena and mild astringency. The taste is bitter, earthy, pine, dough, resin, dirty, alcohol boost, rough astringency and lemon verbena with a slightly hot, resinous finish. medium body and moderate carbonation. A bit dirty. OK at best.

Bottle split at CBC Clerko, thanks to my Wingman, 10/09/15. Hazed golden amber with a well appointed egg shell white covering. Nose is light plastic, orange, straw, bready notes. Taste comprises tangerine, melon, light spice, dull hop, bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a tickle of hop bitterness. 2nd rate pedestrian IPA.

12oz bottle from Binnys that I almost forgot to rate. Slightly hazy orange-tan body. Thin, steady white head. The aroma isn’t that impressive, a little resiny, burnt hop tones. A decent blast of Cascade, but the underlying body is all 90s brewpub IPA. Boring caramel, fruity ale notes, ringwood. Resiny, unenjoyable beverage.

Draft. From notes. Citrus and herbal hops with just a slight hint of something a bit tart. Very good.
