This occasionally seen American red IPA-style beer is brewed again especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. The hoppy aroma leads to biscuit malt flavours which, in turn, yield to the American hop flavours, resulting in a vibrant character and a long, satisfying mouthfeel.

Cask at the Standing Order. Pours clear golden amber with a thin bubbly white head. Aromas of light resin, orange. Taste is spicy, resinous. Oily texture. Spicy finish.

On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Nose - orange and pale malt. Taste - orange and a gnarly biscuit backdrop. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry if slightly astringent finish. Overall - gnarly but worth persevering.

Cask handpull at the crosse keys. A dark orange amber coloured pour with a lasting loose off white head. Aroma is NIV tropical fruit and citrus hop, peach Melba and orange rind, hints of toasted grains. Flavour is composed of nutty grains, tangy citrus hop, some pineapple and orange, peach. Some Grai. Tannin. Palate is semi sweet, decent cask condition. Solid hoppy bitterness. Good new world hoppy bitter.

Cask half pint in my local Wetherspoons on 10th March 2016. Red hue to the amber body, wispy topping. Citrus fruits vie with malty molasses to give a decent blend of aromas and flavours to this semi-sweet yet bitter finishing beer.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Reddish amber with a tight cream head; floral aroma; lively bitter lemon taste with a biscuity body; then a long satisfying finish with grapefruit and pine resin; leading to a increasingly dry finish.
