This ruby-red beer has been brewed only once before and is brought back again especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. The enticing
aromas of tangerine and grapefruit lead to blackberry and treacle-toffee flavours, balanced by a crisp, bitter finish.
Hops: Pacific Gem, Summit
Style: best bitter

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. Reddish amber with a ring of translucent head; slightly spicy aroma; sweet red fruit taste with some caramel, followed by sour plums and then some treacle toffee. Not bad, but lacking the complexity expected from the deScription.

Cask half-pint in my local Wetherspoons on 10th March 2016. Red hue to the brown/copper body, thin beige topping. Fruity nose with a malty twist, the taste a semi-sweet malty flavour with a fruity twist. Not great, but decent enough blend, even if there were no stand out moments for my senses.

Cask at The Prince of Wales on Kensington Church Street. Pours dark amber with orange glints and a slight beige head. Aroma is darkly malty. Med body. Flavor is floral, pretty roasted malt, and maybe a touch of citrus. Possibly even grapefruit rind. It gets more bitter with time.
