Rich, deep copper, amber and bronze coloured body with a muddied orange glow and a thick, rich two centimetre tall tan head - very nice looking. Aroma of alcohol, pine, candy sugar, apricots, yeast, bread and quite a bit of grapefruit and passionfruit. Full-bodied; Rich chewy flavour with the hops hitting strong and hard but then fading to a nice sweetness of fruits and a heavy malt quality. Aftertaste shows a bit of hop bitterness on the end with a little malty richness, alcohol and caramel flavours toward the finish. Overall, a nice imperial IPA in a can!!! A good beer that I wasn’t sure what to expect, but executed fairly well and showing some good flavours consistently, all with a very nice body. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whip In in Austin, Texas on 05-May-2014 for US$2,69 sampled at home in Washington on 05-December-2014.

Bottle at RBWG 2014, thanks! Pours a near clear amber with a near white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a syrupy pine note with some resin and a bit of sweet grains underlying. Flavor has a resinous pine note with a touch of grapefruit and a bread backing.

Hazy amber beer with a good size pale cream coloured head. Palate is soft with fine carbonation. Resinous hops, light skunk and grass. Mild pine, sweet. Bitterish grapefruit marmalade on the backend and mellow tropical fruits. We have the full gamut of hop flavours here! Smooth finish with good bitter linger. Pretty good stuff, very dinkable indeed.

Location: 500 ml bottle from Whole Foods - Kirby, 6/10/13

Aroma: The aroma is pine over citrus hops, with plenty of caramel and bready malts
Appearance: A clear orange color, with a reddish tint, and a small off-white head and streaky lace
Flavor: The taste is lightly sweet, with plenty of malt flavors, and a rather large pine bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, with average carbonation, a sticky feel, and a long, dry finish
Overall Impression: I like this beer, it is a pretty solid DIPA. I wouldn't put it up there with the top examples of the style, but it has all of the right components to make it feel fairly close. At 9.2% this is dangerously drinkable as well.
